Alex Brower for Common Council is kicking off canvassing for 2025! Join us as we go door-to-door in District 3, talking to constituents about our campaign for a better city.

We will be meeting at Art Bar in Riverwest to hand out materials, train new canvassers, and hear the candidate speak. Then we will all go out canvassing, before returning at 1pm to turn in any leftover materials, talk about our experiences, and get to know each other. Stick around for a social afterwards, and be sure to dress for the weather!

The Education Committee presents: DSA Movie Night! This month, we'll be watching "All the Beauty and the Bloodshed," a 2022 documentary covering the life of acclaimed photographer Nan Goldin. The biographical film covers her advocacy during the HIV/AIDS epidemic of the 80s, her founding of the PAIN (Prescription Addiction Intervention Now) advocacy group, and her struggle to hold Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family responsible for their role in the opioid epidemic.

Milwaukee DSA is participating in the presidential inauguration protest march on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. At noon, we will begin marching to the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Statue (1740 N Doctor M.L.K. Jr Dr), which is about one mile away, then march back to our starting point. Alex Brower, Milwaukee DSA Co-Chair and our chapter's endorsed candidate for the Common Council District 3 election, will make be speaking at the rally. Join us to celebrate MLK's legacy of protest and fight back against a fascist presidency right here in MKE!
